For Who?

Accepting your life as it is is also a challenge;
perhaps the greatest one can face.

At the core is your personal growth

Personal growth is at the heart of what we do — regardless of where you are in life. We help you reconnect with yourself and teach you how to open up for your own development, competencies, and skills.

As human beings, we are always in motion. Our growth starts in childhood and continues throughout our lives. Everyone faces challenges; the way we deal with them and how we develop varies from person to person. Sometimes we may feel unseen or unheard, which can lead to a prolonged struggle, sometimes feeling a sense of loss or difficulty in connecting with others.

It takes courage to look inward and take responsibility for your own life. Some people find their inner strength and path on their own, while others need help — and that’s where we come in.

We believe that difficult moments are trying to tell you something and see them as an opening, offering you a chance to pause, grow, and positively transform your life.

Trusting in your strength and compass

Raja Psychologie believes in the potential and abilities of people, as well as in their future. A large part of our development takes place in our early years. We are asked a lot and have countless possibilities. At the same time, we often have no idea where we want to go or what our goals are. The world is at your feet, which is beautiful, but can also be overwhelming and scary. We can’t tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. We believe that you know that best yourself. With a respectful and open approach, we listen to your story and work with you to explore how you can discover and walk your own path.

You are unique, and so is our guidance.

Our clients come from all kinds of cultural backgrounds, and the same goes for our team. We respect differences and value everyone — regardless of origin, age, gender, religion, or lifestyle choices. This open and inclusive attitude is reflected in how we work and shape our treatment processes.

Change takes time and starts with awareness: how you think, what you feel, and how you behave. Together with you, we look at what’s going on and what you need in order to take steps that fit you. We believe that development is personal, and that each person moves at their own pace.

That’s why we sometimes combine conversations with other forms of therapy, such as coaching, movement therapy, mindfulness, body-oriented therapy, or creative therapy. This way, we can connect as much as possible with who you are and what works for you.

Our team consists of practitioners with different backgrounds and specializations. We often collaborate to view your questions from multiple perspectives, which often leads to surprising and valuable insights.

At the same time, this way of working also requires something from you: an open attitude, a willingness to look at yourself, and curiosity about new ideas and possibilities. Because real change starts with yourself — and we’re happy to walk alongside you on that journey.

To improve is to change

Working on change and improvement is a process in which we will try to clarify how you think about things, how you feel and how you behave. Knowing yourself means recognizing different parts of your identity, personality and being. In our practice we believe that it can be extremely supportive to gain new experiences and get to know yourself in a different environment. This can sometimes be uncomfortable but it can help you to get more in touch with yourself and your feelings.

A score we are proud of

It was a big step for me to sign up with a psychologist because I didn’t think my problems were big enough. Ultimately, no matter how big your problems are, you can always come to this practice. Mr. Raja is a fine therapist who offers enough space to tell your story.

The help I get here is amazing! The environment is very nice and the person I am talking to now is very nice and she listens to me and also gives me good advice and tools that work. In addition, it’s nice that I can email her if I’m feeling down and just don’t know what to do. It’s nice to know you’re not alone in this.

I am very satisfied with my treatment. The situation has been looked at very appropriately and based on that, it has been determined what is good and what is not. This has provided clear tools to make a quicker and better choice. This personally didn’t go well and an insight from someone else helps a lot in determining what is right and what is not. Ultimately, this benefited myself and I became more independent. My anxiety problems have become much less because of this and I have become stronger. I’m very happy with that too.

A good problem analysis was made and the advice was in line with this. I liked the feedback of what I had learned via e-mail. This confirmed whether I had understood the advice correctly. The atmosphere during the talks was good. Attention was paid to what was said or not said.

Some time ago I came to Emma through Shehzad with my daughter. Inaya, a girl of 7 years old, got very stuck. Anger at school, and we didn’t quite know where this came from. Emma was very supportive to both me and mother, and Inaya. I was always available for questions, and Inaya loved talking to her. Emma taught Inaya how to deal with her anger, and gave us great advice that also helped school.

The treatments give your thoughts a different perspective and they help to keep you on the right path, in addition, they are all very sweet people, making the environment feel safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatment conversations with a psychologist offer you the opportunity to better see what you encounter and to discover how you can best deal with it. Your capacity for self-reflection is strengthened: what is wrong with me and what do I actually need?

There is a lot of variety in how we work together. Sometimes it is necessary, for example, to introduce a lot of structure in the sessions by sticking to fixed themes or exercises, and sometimes it is more appropriate to let go of the structure and the therapy mainly depends on your input. One is not necessarily better than the other. This depends on how you are put together, on the complaints you experience and on what you find important.

At our practice we are happy to help you to work on your goals!

In the case of mild or moderate psychological complaints, treatment at our practice is usually possible. For example: sadness, fears, negative self-image, low self-confidence and life questions. You are always welcome to contact us to discuss the possibilities and to gain more clarity about what you need to change and improve your life. We usually do not treat serious problems. This is because, for example, we do not have the possibility of recording and we do not have 24-hour availability or crisis service. We can therefore not provide the care that is actually needed. If you are unsure whether treatment is appropriate for our practice, please contact us for a consultation. You could also contact your doctor to look together for appropriate help.
Our practice has contracts with all health insurers in the Netherlands and we offer insured care that can be reimbursed under the basic insurance. When reimbursed under the basic insurance, you always pay your deductible first, which is € 385 per year as standard. You will also receive a bill for this from your insurer. To be eligible for reimbursed treatment consultations, we need a referral letter from your GP. This can also be sent digitally via Zorgdomein to Raja Psychologie in The Hague.
The rates for reimbursed treatment sessions can be found here. Treatment consultations on the basis of self-payment are also possible. The rate is then €90 per 60-minute session.
