Method

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but they laid bricks every hour.

Honesty and openness

We want to learn who you are. In order to support you as best as possible, we ask you to be as honest and open as possible with your therapist: the more the therapist knows about how you think and what you feel, the better he or she can help you. Don’t know or find it difficult to talk about something? Then make that a topic of discussion. This way you can stay in conversation without getting stuck.

And logically, you also want to know who we are. Our practitioner will therefore tell you everything about our working method and the various options you have with us. Of course there is room to ask any questions you have!

The conversation lasts a maximum of 1 hour and preferably takes place in our practice, but can also take place online.

During the intake interview we will talk about your complaints and situation. We will then make agreements about your goals and how we will work together to achieve those goals. In consultation with you, we could also involve your environment in the treatment discussions.

Based on the complaints you experience, a treatment plan will be drawn up with you during or after the intake interview with the treatment steps you need and/or want. It will also be determined which additional forms of therapy and/or interventions can be applied during your treatment process (examples: EMDR, solution-focused therapy, directive therapy). Our team consists of psychologists, therapists and coaches.

Structure of treatment process

During the treatment you will learn about your behavior, your thinking, your feelings and how you can learn to deal with them. This makes you better able to deal with challenges in life. Every person is unique, every problem is unique and therefore a treatment process is also unique.

During the treatment sessions you will have the opportunity to learn new skills to deal with life’s challenges.

Together we will determine which method suits you and your situation best. Mail contact, telephone contact, questionnaires and online modules (e-health) can be used in addition to the treatment conversations. Through our electronic patient file, we can prepare various modules for you in consultation with you, such as diaries, education modules and questionnaires.

We can create and compile e-health modules via an editor, so we can determine the content ourselves and offer it to you tailor-made. We can securely share documents with you via our electronic patient file, such as the treatment plan, reports and letters.

We will also discuss with you how you can deal with setbacks and relapses and, if necessary, a crisis plan and/or a relapse prevention plan can be drawn up together with you.

Change and improvement

We are a multicultural team and our clients have various cultural backgrounds. We respect diversity and value everyone, regardless of origin, age, gender, religious beliefs and life choices. That is also how we work and shape a treatment trajectory.

Our mission at Raja Psychologie is to help you to help yourself. We see ourselves more as a supporters, motivators or coaches. Within that role we try to stimulate you to think about what you find important in your life, what you are motivated by and what you can do yourself to realize changes. Only you are the authority of yourself.

Sometimes words can be hard to find or hard to say and sometimes you are not even aware of what you are actually feeling. Your body is always in the now, but it carries the memories of the past and is influenced by all your experiences and emotions. It is in the state of processing, carrying or healing a lot. Various forms of therapy can be used to create psychological and physical balance. In our practice we choose to combine conventional treatment conversations with other forms of therapy (such as Coaching, Body-oriented Therapy or Artistic Therapy).

Our therapists are specialized in a specific field and sometimes work closely together to investigate various issues or requests for help from you and to offer solutions for them. The advantage is that the team comes up with creative, valuable solutions from different angles to work on your goals.

Some things need time. Don’t be afraid to take slow steps, but only to come to a complete stop. Slow progress is still progress.

During your journey we will regularly evaluate using evaluation and self-reflection forms in order to monitor and evaluate your treatment and progress.

We see evaluations and self-reflections as part of your treatment process at Raja Psychologie. This way you can take the time to carefully reflect on your experiences and progress in the treatment process.
Evaluations and self-reflections help us to see at any time how you have experienced something, what you need during your treatment process and what the next step in your journey can look like so that we can make all the sessions you have within our practice as effective as possible.

Sometimes we notice during treatment that more help is needed for a person. We can then look together at the possibilities within our practice or choose to look with you at a referral to an institution in the SGGZ (Specialistic Mental Healthcare). These are often bigger institutions that focus on serious, complex or more frequently recurring mental disorders. These institutions often also have more options (in terms of sessions or therapy options). Usually there is a psychiatrist available who also has the ability to prescribe medication if necessary.

If you think that what we can offer suits you well, please contact us via our contact form.

To improve is to change

Working on change and improvement is a process in which we will try to clarify how you think about things, how you feel and how you behave. Knowing yourself means recognizing different parts of your identity, personality and being. In our practice we believe that it can be extremely supportive to gain new experiences and get to know yourself in a different environment. This can sometimes be uncomfortable but it can help you to get more in touch with yourself and your feelings.

Treatment interventions

Download here an overview of treatment interventions that can be applied within our practice, broken down by complaints and/or target group. You will also find an overview of our exclusion criteria here: Additional information on the treatment process

Quality standards and care standards

More information about which quality standards and care standards are applied, how and when there is cooperation with partners and which information is exchanged with partners under what conditions, can be found in the Quality Statue of Raja Psychologie.

Information exchange with the referrer

After the intake interview, with your permission, a message will be sent to the referrer via a secure route (Zorgdomein) with our findings, diagnosis and treatment plan.

After completion of the treatment process, another message will be sent to the referrer with a summary of treatment and advice regarding follow-up. In the case of long-term treatment (> 12 weeks), an interim message is sent to the referrer regarding the progress of the treatment.

Working method with youth

Raja Psychologie considers psychological problems of a child as something of the whole family. We therefore enter into discussions with both the child and the parent. We believe that parents can best help the child and we help the parents give this help. In the meantime, we also listen to the child. Listening to the child is learning to listen to yourself. Children today have many problems. That says something about how badly we as adults and as a society listen to ourselves. Raja Psychologie tries to teach parents and child to listen to themselves and thus come together again.

Treatment Effects and Client Experiences

Within the treatment process, there will be room during almost every treatment meeting to evaluate how the treatment is progressing. Is there a complaint reduction? Does the treatment method match the expectations you have or had?

In addition, we will conduct questionnaires (ROM) at the beginning, in the interim and at the end of the treatment to be able to monitor the development and severity of your complaints during the treatment. This data is initially used to evaluate the course of the treatment and to further develop the treatment methods within our practice. In addition, with your permission, this data can be submitted anonymously to Stichting Benchmark GGZ in order to gain more insight at a national level into treatment effects and possible developments that are necessary.

In addition, you will be asked by means of questionnaires (CQ index) how satisfied you are with the treatment and how you experienced the treatment. This data is used to develop and adjust our working method if necessary. The evaluation and questionnaires also give us the opportunity to share current client experiences via our website in order to help other clients in making a choice for a healthcare provider. These current client experiences are placed on the website by means of reporting of the questionnaires used and are updated annually.

Client Experiences 2025 (CQ Index)

  • Clients rate the care at Raja Psychologie with a 8.6
  • Clients were most positive about the treatment of the practitioners and the execution of the treatment
  • Clients were less positive about the provision of information regarding self-help programs, client support, and/or patient associations

*The CQ-index (Consumer Quality – index) is a scientifically based, standardized system that can be used throughout the healthcare sector to measure the experiences of patients/clients with the care provided to them. The purpose of the CQ index is to promote transparency about the performance of healthcare providers in terms of customer focus.

The above findings will be included in the development and adjustment of the working method in our practice.
